Come to the Last Zephyr’s Home Game - Join us as we cheer on the New Orleans Zephyr’s in their last home game on Sunday, September 5th. We will be leaving for the game at 4:30 to see the first pitch at 6:00! Sign up today to reserve your seat by calling 386-6541 or emailing Kate at KLane@fumc-ponchatoula.org

Please see Kate for a yellow information sheet if you're interested in volunteering to help with youth. You can help us in various ways. Just a few include fixing dinner one night, donating your time as a chaperone, or volunteering to help with a specific event as the need arises.
LAST TIME -
Sunday, July 18th saw a good bit of rain and smiling faces as the Zephyr’s won their match against Memphis. Youth group member Michelle Mobley and her cousins, Leigha and Rachel, along with friends Kim and Jamie were in the stands to cheer the Zephyr’s on to their resounding victory. This was the first official event for the UMYF—Ponchatoula under the leadership of the new youth director, Kate Lane. And, it was an adventure to be sure.
The group arrived in New Orleans in luxury, courtesy of Mr. Monty and Mrs. Rita Montcrief and their trusty RV. There was a bit of confusion about tickets which led to everyone donning their rain wear and circling the field looking for a certain ticket counter. (Think platform 9¾.) Once we found it, we were set to watch the Zephyr’s “play ball.” July 18th was kids’ night at Zephyr’s field which kept everyone entertained between innings. Visits to the concession stands, debates over snow cones versus ice cream, and laughter, cheering, and general goofiness ensued. A good time was had by all, despite the inclement weather and the UMYF—Ponchy group will be visiting Zephyr’s field again soon.
